Springfield, Mass. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team traveled up to American International on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Yellow Jackets in a Northeast-10 contest.
The Panthers set the tone early, dominating the two doubles matches that were played. The number one duo of Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd were victorious 6-1, while Zuzanna Witkowska and Caterina Federici won their match in easy fashion, 6-1. Sara Lindeman and Genesis Beltran won their match due to a forfeit.
The momentum for Adelphi would continue into singles play as they went undefeated and would pick up a 7-0 match victory.
Liedbeck (6-1, 6-0), Witkowska (6-0, 6-0) Beltran (6-0, 6-0) and Ada Amarghioalei (6-0, 6-0), who made her season debut, were absolutely incredible, only dropping one game between the four of them.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will return to the court on Saturday and they are hosted by Saint Michael's at 11 a.m.
