Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Even despite a late start due to traffic, the Adelphi University volleyball team managed to come away with a three-set victory over non-conference Mercy University on Tuesday. 

The Panthers (7-6) have now won three of their last four contests and play two more non-league opponents before opening up Northeast-10 Conference action. Against the Mavericks (5-2), Adelphi has won eight straight and only dropped two sets since 2006 according to matchup history. 

With identical scores in sets one and two, the 'Cats rattled off their best team hitting percentage of the game (.560) in the third and final set, taking a commanding 25-13 win. 

Emilia Cascapera took 10 swings, successfully found the floor nine times and committed no errors, while Macarty McQueen led the team with another double-digit kill effort, collecting 11. 

Adelphi will be on the road on Thursday for its next contest, featuring Caldwell University at 5:00 p.m.
