Rindge, N.H — The Adelphi men's tennis team traveled to Franklin Pierce on Tuesday morning to begin its quest to repeat as Northeast-10 champions.
The doubles teams of Hugo Munoz Reinoso/Reece Farrow and Marko Jovanovic/Viktor Hockl continued their dominance as they both won their matches by a score of 6-4.
In what would turn out to be a very important victory, the tandem of Rodrigo Ochoa and Elouan would pull out a very close win 7 (10), 6 (8).
In singles, Jovanovic continued to play well, defeating the Franklin Pierce #1 without much of a sweat, 6-3, 6-2.
After falling in a very close match at the ITA East Regionals, Casey Recci bounced back as the Panthers' #4 and won his match 6-4, 6-2.
Matias Hoyos kept his solid play from the ITAs going as his 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory would help give Adelphi a 4-3 victory and 1-0 record to start the season.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers return to the court on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. when they host Southern New Hampshire.
