Purdie Notches 200, Men's Lacrosse Earns Regular Season Crown

Manchester, NH - The Adelphi men's lacrosse team closed out the regular season on a high note with Head Coach Gordon Purdie's 200th career victory following a 14-8 victory at Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday.

Logan Tucker registered a team-high six points in the Panthers regular season finale, with four goals and two assists. The Panthers (12-2, 9-0 NE10) capped off a perfect Northeast-10 Conference schedule, never allowing their opponents to score in double-figures.

With a 45-38 advantage in shots, reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the week Dylan Renner recorded seven saves while allowing eight goals.

Eamon Hall and Brian Harinski connected for the Panther's fourth goal of the first quarter to make it a 4-2 contest, but the hosting Penmen managed to even the score and regain the lead not once, but twice.

After Hall's equalizer, the teams traded goals until midway through the third when Tucker found Kyle Lewis to make it an 8-7 game. From there, Adelphi rattled off four unanswered goals en route to a five goal advantage, making it very challenging for the home team to stage a comeback.

Despite a lone goal from Southern New Hampshire in the fourth, the Panthers tacked on two more tallies from Hall and Colin Hansen to really keep the hosts at bay.

Adelphi was nearly perfect in clears, only unsuccessful twice as the teams were even with 13 faceoff victories apiece.

The Panthers will be the no. 1 seed ahead of the NE10 tournament which is slated to begin on Saturday, April 27. Adelphi earns a first round bye with the top-seed and will host a semifinal matchup on Wednesday, May 1.
