Old Westbury, N.Y. - In a one-day tournament hosted by Farmingdale State College, the Adelphi University men's golf team came in second out of four schools at the Glen Oaks Invitational at Glen Oaks Club.
The other schools participating in the 18-hole, Par 72 contest were Farmingdale State, Nichols, and SUNY Delhi. The Brown and Gold finished with a total score of 14-over 302, trailing by only eight strokes to champion Farmingdale State.
Freshman
Axel Romney stayed consistent the whole day, shooting par on both the front and back nine, with his 72 tying him for second overall.
Johnny Solari kept himself near the top of the leaderboard the whole day as well, only going two-over throughout the course, tying for fifth overall.
Francis Lanuza led all golfers on the front nine, shooting a two-under 34 with three birdies. A five-over 41 on the back ultimately carded him a 75 that placed Lanuza seventh overall.
Alec Ramos' struggled particularly through the back nine, going 6-over to round out his day with a total score of 81.
Mason Rivera and
Thomas Fasano rounded out the Panther scorecard with an 82 and 88, respectively.

David Mattana and the Panthers will next compete at the Spartan Invitational on Friday (Apr. 5), hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College at Rotella Golf Club in Haverstraw.
