Men's Tennis Triumphs on Road at UDC, 5-2

Washington, D.C. - With another regional contender on the docket, the Adelphi University men's tennis team claimed a 5-2 road victory Saturday against University of the District of Columbia at the UDC Tennis Courts.

The win not only improves the Panthers to 6-2 overall, but their still-undefeated record against stiff East Region competition now stands at 6-0.

As the doubles point hung in the balance at the No. 2 flight. Hugo Munoz Reinoso and Reece Farrow came on strong at the service line to squeeze out a 6-4 come-from-behind victory.

UDC's Oskar Karos then leveled the score at the start of singles competition, before Adelphi turned up the pressure on the Firebirds (5-6).

Marko Jovanovic lost only three games in a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Casey Recci (6-2, 6-1) and Reinoso (6-3, 6-3) also prevailed in straight sets at the No. 3 and No. 4 flights, respectively.

Viktor Hockl earned a key break in the decisive set of his No. 2 singles match and prevailed 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. He and Jovanovic are a combined 21-5 in singles matches so far this season.

Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and her Adelphi squad will travel up to Waterbury, Conn. this Wednesday (Mar. 20) for a 3 p.m. first serve at Post University.
