Garden City, N.Y. - After a delayed start due to traffic conditions and celebration of the graduating class, the Adelphi University volleyball team concluded the regular season with a win, topping Southern New Hampshire University on Friday evening, 3-1. 

Three different players reached double-figure kills for Adelphi (21-8, 8-2 NE10), with Macarty McQueen leading the charge with 13. Emilia Cascapera and Noelle Alberda accounted for 11 and 10, respectively as the duo combined for eight digs and two block assists. 

After two quick wins for the home team, the Penmen (9-16,4-6 NE10) used extra points in the third frame to force a fourth set. Adelphi had match point three different times down the stretch, but it was SNHU coming out victorious with a 29-27 victory. 

The Panthers were perfect in the opening set with 11 kills and zero errors and notched 13 kills with two errors in the fourth to raise their team hitting percentage to a .325 for the contest. Holding a 14-22 advantage in attack errors, Adelphi was able to close out the fourth with timely hitting and unforced errors by SNHU. 

Adelphi awaits the official Northeast-10 Conference bracket, which will be released tomorrow evening to learn its first round opponent. The quarterfinal matchup will take place on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the match are $10 for adults and $5 for youth/seniors.
