Men's Basketball Drops First Game of Season to Dominican (NY)

Orangeburg. N.Y. — Head coach Dave Duke and the Adelphi men's basketball team took the quick trip to Rockland Country on Wednesday night to take on CAAC for Dominican.

The Chargers would jump out to an early lead and never gave it up as they took down the Panthers 63-41.

The first half was a struggle from the field for Adelphi. Although they played solid defense, poor shooting plagued the 'Cats as they trailed by 10 going into the half.

The Brown and Gold were able to cut the Dominican lead to six but a quick 14-2 Charger run would put the game out of reach. Adelphi would continue to try and claw its way back, but the ball would just not find the bucket at the rate the Panthers wanted. Their record now moves to 2-1.

Andres Fulgencio was the team's leading scorer with 11. Matthew Price poured in eight off the bench while Nuha Sagnia had a team-high nine boards.

Adelphi will return to the court on Saturday afternoon when they open up NE10 play and play host to Assumption at 3:30 p.m. in the CRS.
