Springfield, Mass. - In its first Northeast-10 Conference matchup of the season, the Adelphi University volleyball program suffered a severe 3-0 loss to American International College on Saturday, inside Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
The Panthers (9-7, 0-1 NE10) are just 1-9 against the Yellow Jackets in their last 10 matchups, and were not able to overcome the home team in the league opener.
Plagued with hitting errors, the 'Cats struggled to find the inside of the court as they put up a season-high 28 miscues (for a three-set match), while the home team were responsible for just seven all game.
Another challenge for the Panther attack came in the form of AIC's defense, that totaled nine team blocks to Adelphi's three.
Jaydin Nowak and
Jamaya Harris both record double-figure digs with 14 and 10, respectively while
Kambel Fiser finished with 24 assists.
