Colchester, Vt. — Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Adelphi women's tennis team traveled up to Saint Michael's on Saturday morning to continue Northeast-10 conference play.
Much like their previous match, the Panthers got off to a roaring start, sweeping doubles play and earning the first point.
The number one pairing of Katarina Liedbeck and Zuzanna Witkowska won their match, 6-1. Roisin Boyd and Caterina Federici were victorious in a close match, 7-5 while the freshman duo of Sara Lindeman and Genesis Beltran won with ease, 6-0.
Momentum from the doubles win carried over as the 'Cats once again had some big victories. Liedbeck and Witkowska both earned 6-0, 6-1 victories.
Boyd battled in her first game to a 7-5 win and then finished the match with a 6-1 victory.
Lindeman kept her hot streak of play going picking up a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Beltran, playing as Adelphi's number five, won her match 6-1, 6-0.
After her convincing win last week, Ada Amarghioalei earned another start as the Brown and Gold's number six and did not disappoint. She picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win.
The Panthers won the match, 7-0 and earned their fifth straight victory moving their record to 6-1.
The Adelphi women's tennis team will return to the court as a team on Sunday Oct. 13 against Assumption for Senior Day. Liedbeck and Boyd will be competing at the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. starting on Thursday.
