Manchester, NH - With just five games left of the conference regular season, Adelphi volleyball extends its overall win streak to five following a win over Saint Anselm College on Saturday, inside Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
Delaney Kiendra was the match leader with 14 kills and a .417 hitting percentage while
Noelle Alberda also recorded double-figure kills, accounting for 11.
Kambel Fiser collected 41 assists and posted a team-leading four service aces.
The Hawks (6-11,0-3 NE10) narrowly defeated Adelphi in the opener, 25-23, but after regrouping, the Panthers came back to win the next three to remain undefeated this week.
Alberda was responsible for the kill that sparked a four-point run in the second that put them ahead for good - en route to a 25-17 decision to even the match at one-all.
The Panthers (14-7, 4-1 NE10) overcame a two-point deficit and used another string of five points to keep Saint Anselm at bay in the third and needed one more set win to head back to New York with a victory.
In no time, the Cats were ahead 15-5 in the fourth as four different players found the floor alongside a big block from
Kalena Ricketts and and Fiser. The home team staged a five-point comeback to come within seven of Adelphi, but
Macarty McQueen and
Mackenzie Casey recorded a service ace and kill, respectively to end the contest.
Adelphi will take on Molloy University in cross-town action on Tuesday, October 22. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
