Garden City, N.Y. — The No. 2 seeded Adelphi women's tennis team will continue its hunt for back-to-back Northeast-10 championships after it defeated No. 3 seed Assumption in the semifinal on Friday.
The Panthers would clinch their victory early, 4-0 with no need for the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches to take place.
The doubles point was secured in under 40 minutes with the No. 1 pairing of Katarina Liedbeck and Zuzanna Witkowska picking up a 6-1 win while the No. 2 duo of Roisin Boyd and Caterina Federici earned a 6-2 victory.
Witkowska, who earned first team all-conference honors as the No. 2, would keep momentum going and picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Boyd dominated in her No. 3 match, earning a 6-2, 6-1 win and Lindeman would shut the door on the Greyhounds with her 6-2, 6-1 victory.
The Panthers will arrive to New Haven on Sunday morning, hoping to avenge their lone loss from earlier in the season and pick up their second conference title in a row.
