Concord, N.H. - In its first outing of the 2023-24 season, the Adelphi University men's golf team earned a seventh-place finish at the Granite State Opener, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

The Brown and Gold competed against a dozen other schools, and carded a team score of 7-over in their opening round that put the 'Cats in contention with the other tournament leaders.

A tournament that was slated for 54 holes, the forecast cut down play to two rounds. Adelphi ultimately finished up with a two-day score of 15-over 591.

Graduate student Filip Wetterqvist tallied the lowest score for the Panthers, shooting a team-best 147, which tied him for 11th place.

Backed by a 1-under 71 in his initial round, Johnny Solari finished right behind Wetterqvist on the leaderboard with a 4-over 148, tying him for 15th.

Sophomore Francis Lanuza and junior Mason Rivera shot a 150 and 155, respectively.

Alec Ramos rounded out the Adelphi line-up, tallying a 165.

Head Coach David Mattana and the Panthers will make their way back to Concord next week, when they compete at the Penmen Invitational (Sep. 25-26) at Concord Country Club.
