Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team is off to a blazing-hot 3-0 start, following Sunday's 7-0 blanking of NE10 foe Saint Michael's College.

While the Panthers look ahead to ITA's next week, Adelphi also has Sept. 23 circled on its calendar, when the 'Cats meet reigning NE10 Tournament champion Southern New Hampshire in their return to conference play.

The ominous weather caused the match to be moved indoors to Point Set once doubles action concluded.

With the doubles point already in their pocket, the Panthers lost all of three games in singles to coast to victory.

Katarina Liedbeck, Roisin Boyd and Caterina Federici each surrendered a game, but won convincingly. Astrid Bergh and Carolina Chaves shut out their opposition at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and the 'Cats are staying home for this year's ITA East Region Championships (Sept. 14-18) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
