Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Hall, Duchnowski Score Hat Tricks in #3 Men's Lax Win at Saint Mike's, 12-7

Colchester, VT - Combining to score half of the goals for no. 3 Adelphi men's lacrosse, Joseph Duchnowski and Eamon Hall each recorded hat tricks to defeat Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon.

In a slow start for the Panthers (11-0, 7-0 NE10), the home team outscored the visitors in the opening frame, 3-2, however erupted in the second to tack on another six.

Hall's first goal in the second, coupled with Duchnowski's tally gave Adelphi the lead for the first time in the contest but the Purple Knights came back with another to even the score at four-all. It went back-and-forth until three straight from the Panthers firmed the advantage, with the visitors leading by three heading into the halftime break.

The home team was 3-8 in clears throughout the third quarter, and committed a frame-high eight turnovers en route to the visiting team adding another four goals to their stat line. The Purple Knights were also held to only four shots, with Adelphi's defense causing 13 turnovers in total for the contest. Logan Tucker, who finished with four points in the win was responsible for a pair of goals in the third alone.

Saint Michael's attempted a comeback, scoring the only two goals in the final frame as the Panther offense turned cold, despite another 12 shot effort. Spencer Scardino took over for starter Sean Regan at the break and managed to earn 12 saves in 30 minutes.

For the game, the Brown and Gold doubled the shot output of the hosts, 51-25 and committed eight errors compared to the home team's 25, proving to be the difference-maker.

Men's lacrosse will be back at Motamed Field on Wednesday, April 12 as the second of a double feature for the Panthers, joining in on the Mental Health Awareness theme initially set by Northeast-10 women's lacrosse schools on that day. The team will be supporting Morgan's Message, an organization created to help destigmatize mental health in the student-athlete community.
