Springfield, Mass. - With a seven-goal performance from
Kerrin Heuser, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse team closed out the regular season with a commanding 20-3 victory against American International on Saturday.
Izzy Grant wasted no time earning her fifth game with a hat trick or better, scoring the opening three goals for the Panthers (11-5, 9-3 NE10). After six unanswered goals in the first frame from four different goal scorers, the offense erupted with 10 goals in the second quarter to push the game to running time and lead 16-0 at the break. In the stretch of 10 consecutive tallies throughout the second, Adelphi converted three free position attempts and caused three turnovers while winning nine draws.
The visitors ended with a 17-9 advantage in draw controls for the contest and took 27 shots in the opening half compared to AIC's three.
Adelphi tacked on three more goals in the third, including tallies from

The Yellow Jackets (3-12, 1-11 NE10) finally got on the board following 48 minutes of scoreless ball, having only taken six shots up to that point. The hosts were able to outscore the Panthers in the final frame, 3-1, as the Adelphi offense put on the breaks to close out the 17-goal margin.
