Four Record Hat Tricks in #12 Women's Lax Defeat at Franklin Pierce

Rindge, NH - No. 12 Adelphi University women's lacrosse cruised to its 13th victory all time against Franklin Pierce on Wednesday, defeating the Ravens 19-8 in its penultimate matchup of the regular season.

Four different Panthers netted hat tricks in the win, as the team saw three goals each from Danielle Marino, Kerrin Heuser, Kristina Kallansrude and Kelly-Ann McGrath. After that, six additional players tallied at least one goal to contribute to the bounceback victory. With one more game on the docket, Adelphi is sitting third in the standings at the time of this release, which is before an integral matchup featuring Saint Anselm and Bentley.

Using a seven-goal first quarter, the Panthers didn't look back even despite a Katelynn Hadden goal cut the visitor lead to two in the early going. It was a stretch of nine goals over the next quarter that saw Adelphi lead 12-1 before the Ravens (3-13, 2-11 NE10) got another tally on the board.

Adelphi was granted back-to-back free position attempts to start off the third frame, which they converted as Tamia Lawson made it a 15-2 contest with 9:45 left. Franklin Pierce put together some offense over the ensuing minutes, scoring three of the next four goals to cut the deficit to 11.

Rita Sefransky scored the opening strike in the final period, but the Ravens once again strung together three straight possessions that led to a score to put a stop to running time at 6:00. With 4:52 remaining, Jamie Mecca pushed the game back to a 10-goal difference and Kallansrude closed the door with another goal nearly two minutes later.

Head Coach Pat McCabe and his squad will close out the regular season on Saturday, Apr. 29 when they take on American International. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
