Cornwall, Pa. - With regionals on the horizon, the Adelphi University men's golf team got an earlier round in at Iron Valley Golf Club this week at the NCAA Atlantic and East Regional Preview.
As twenty-five teams made the trek to Cornwall ahead of next month's championship, Adelphi tied for fifth with a two-day score of 609 (304-305).
Only fifteen strokes separated the Top 10 teams at the tournament. Additionally, the Panthers trailed Le Moyne for the lead among NE10 teams, by just three strokes.
Filip Wetterqvist is playing his best golf when it matters most. His final round consisted of a 1-under 71, leading to a runner-up finish and NE10 Player of the Week honors.
After going over six years without having an NE10 Player of the Week, the Panthers have.now won the award in consecutive weeks.
Wetterqvist tied for the tournament lead with his two eagles -- both on the par-five third hole -- and joined teammate
Johnny Solari with 23 total pars.
