Bethpage, N.Y. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University men's golf team competed at the Farmingdale State College Spring Invitational at Bethpage Red Golf Course in Bethpage.
The 36-hole tournament was expected to be played over two days, but Sunday's poor weather halted competition after a single round.
Johnny Solari sank five straight pars to commence his round and finished even-par on the front nine, en route to a team-leading 72 on the day.
Solari tied for fifth among 51 total golfers in the field and holed three birdies along the way -- one shy of tying for the tournament lead.
Andrew Brunozzi and
Kobe Currie improved greatly after the turn and both carded an 8-over 78 on the course.
Brunozzi shot 2-over on the back nine and made twelve total pars, while Currie collected a birdie on the front and shot 3-over on the back.
Thomas Fasano and
James Murphy each rounded out the lineup with an 84, highlighted by Murphy's birdie on the 12th.
Head Coach
David Mattana and the Panthers now turn their attention to the NCAA Atlantic & East Regional Preview on Monday and Tuesday at Iron Valley Golf Club in Cornwall, Pa.
