Queens, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team wrapped up a three-match homestand Sunday with a 4-0 win over Daemen University at the Alley Pond Tennis Courts.
With the match being played to decision, the contest was halted after four points were accrued by either team.
While
Hugo Munoz Reinoso and
Reece Farrow were on the cusp of completing their match, Adelphi's No. 1 and No. 3 pairs finished up in successful fashion to seal the doubles point.
The reigning NE10 All-Conference doubles team of
Marko Jovanovic and
Gabriel Balestero were paired back up and comfortably prevailed 6-2 at the No. 1 flight.
Meanwhile,
Thiago Negrao and
Thomas Horsley continued their excellent play at No. 3 doubles with a 6-1 result.
Gabriel Balestero earned his team-leading seventh singles victory with a 6-1, 6-4 decision at the No. 3 flight.
Marko Jovanovic breezed to a 6-2, 6-0 victory in top singles.
Hugo Munoz Reinoso won his first match as a Panther -- at No. 2 singles -- by a 6-1, 6-3 scoreline.
Now that the homestand has concluded, Adelphi takes to the road for two straight, beginning Thursday (Mar. 9) in Flushing at Queens College at 12 p.m.
