Men's Tennis Faces Local Rival Queens in Losing Effort

Flushing, N.Y. - On Thursday, the Adelphi University men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 setback at the hands of Queens College at the QC Tennis Bubble in Flushing.

The loss dips the Panthers to 4-5 on the season, while the Knights now stand at 5-2 overall.

Although Thomas Horsley and Thiago Negrao won 7-6 (7-5) at the No. 2 flight, Queens had already been awarded the team doubles point by then.

In singles, Marko Jovanovic and Hugo Munoz Reinoso both duked out 10-point tiebreakers against their opponents.

Jovanovic fell 5-7, 6-4, 5-10 at the No. 1 flight. Despite winning his opening set, Reinoso dropped a 6-4, 5-7, 7-10 decision at second singles.

Gabriel Balestero, Salomon Arce Lema, Viktor Hockl and Reece Farrow all played close matches, but lost in straight sets.
