High-Scoring Affair Sees #5 Men's Lax Top Saint Rose, 20-16

Albany, N.Y. - Three different players for no. 5 Adelphi men's lacrosse contributed a hat trick or better to assist in a 20-16 Northeast-10 Conference victory over the College of Saint Rose on Tuesday at Sullivan Field.

Jason Rebaudo and Logan Tucker were both responsible for a team-leading six points apiece as Kyle Steinbach led the scoring for the fifth-ranked Panthers with five goals.

The visitors were able to jump out to a three-goal lead on the back of Steinbach's pair to open the contest, capped with a tally from Brian Harinski before Saint Rose got on the board. At the conclusion of the first, the Panthers (8-0, 4-0 NE10) held a two-goal advantage.

Gaining momentum with the last goal of the first frame, the Golden Knights scored three unanswered to even the contest at five-all, but a score from Tucker at the one second mark put the hosts back three heading into the halftime break.

Eamon Hall started off the scoring for Adelphi in the third quarter, doubling the home team's output 6-3 to head into the final 15 minutes of work with a 15-9 edge.

After scoring the first two of the fourth, Saint Rose rattled off three unanswered, with a pair coming from the stick of leading scorer Jack Rice. Responding accordingly, Adelphi got goals from Kyle Lewis, Brian Hoerter and a man-up possession from Brian Harinski to stretch out to an eight-goal lead.

It was not over for the hosts however, who tallied the final four goals of the contest in a last ditch effort to take down the undefeated Panthers, ultimately outscoring them 7-5 in the final frame.

Between the pipes, reigning two-time NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week allowed 16 goals, but saved 10 as the Knights' Ryan Gainor stopped 15 - one less than his season high.

The team is back in action on Saturday, Apr. 1 when they host Assumption University at 3:00 p.m. as part of a lacrosse double feature on Motamed Field.
