Sparkill, N.Y. - Missing a few starters, the Adelphi University women's tennis team lost by a 6-1 final to St. Thomas Aquinas College on Sunday morning at the Riley Family Tennis Courts.

As Rebecca Fakas was forced to move around her lineup, Katarina Liedbeck showed out at No. 1 singles.

In her second career start at the top flight, Liedbeck defeated STAC's Samantha Villegas Robles in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4.

Villegas Robles landed on the All-ECC Second Team this past fall, after compiling a 10-2 record in singles competition.

Amanda Franstedt started at No. 2 singles for the third time in her career, while Carolina Chaves and Jenelle Downer jumped up to No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.

Fakas and the Panthers next play Post University at home on Friday (Mar. 31) at 1 p.m. in Garden City.
