Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

#4 Men's Lax Continues Streak with 17-7 Defeat of SNHU

Garden City, N.Y. - Logan Tucker scored a team-leading five goals en route to no. 4 Adelphi men's lacrosse defeating Southern New Hampshire 17-7 on Saturday afternoon, under sunny skies at Motamed Field to kick off the bulk of conference play.

Behind Tucker, six other individuals found the back of the cage, with Joseph Duchnowski contributing a hat trick. Chipping in a pair of tallies, Jack Hipchen was dominant on both sides of the ball, scoring two and collecting six ground balls throughout the day.

Adelphi (6-0, 2-0 NE10) wasted no time getting on the board after a successful faceoff win for Brian Hoerter made way for Hipchen to score just ten seconds into the game. The home team added four more goals before Southern New Hampshire broke the silence at 5:37 with their only goal of the half as the Panthers continued to capitalize on offense.

It was a scoreless second for the visiting team, as the Cats continued to put pressure on offense, taking 16 to SNHU's four and landing three past keeper Ronan DePaul. Despite the loss, he finished with a season-high 12 saves. At the break, the hosts led 10-1 with a 30-15 advantage in shots taken, while also limiting turnovers to five in the half.

The teams traded goals to start off the third quarter, but Adelphi maintained its lead by tacking on an extra two before the frame came to a close.

Although the Penmen outscored Adelphi 3-2 in the final 15 minutes of action, Collin Hansen chipped in a pair of tallies with Nicholas Deblanco earning an assist as the team rolled to its sixth consecutive victory. To-date this season, the Panthers have now outscored their opponents 106-31.

Adelphi will be on the road for its next two contests, with a 12:00 p.m. opening faceoff scheduled for Mar. 25 at Saint Anselm College. The Cats will not be back to Motamed until next month when they host Assumption on Apr. 1 at 3:00 p.m. in conjunction with its annual Alumni Day celebration.
