Miami Shores, Fla. - A game as crooked as the score indicated, the Adelphi University baseball team won a wild 18-14 game against Post University at Barry University's Feinbloom Field on Sunday.
Despite falling into an early 2-0 hole, the Panthers (5-6) soon led 11-2 after four innings of play.
Sophomore shortstop
Jack Wishner lined the go-ahead two-RBI single on an 0-2 pitch in the second, and
Kyle Olson knocked in a pair in the third with a triple to center.
Post (7-10) committed eight errors in the field over the course of the game, but the Eagles still inched ever close to a comeback.
Graduate outfielder
Tim Feliz, who finished 3-for-5 with five RBIs, struck a pair of RBI doubles in the sixth and seventh that kept the opposition's rally at bay.
Olson entered the afternoon's action with a .167 average and contributed a 4-for-4 day that boosted his line to .267 for the season.
Robert Affenita III secured his first collegiate win with a strong 1.1 innings.
Brendan Kenneally and
Coleton Reitan let up a hit apiece and shut the door over the final 1.2 innings.
Head Coach
