New Haven, Conn. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University women's basketball team lost by a 67-54 final to NE10 rival Southern Connecticut State University at James Moore Field House in New Haven.
The loss puts the skid for the Panthers (9-14, 6-12 NE10) at four straight, with two remaining regular-season contests still on tap.
Aside from
Ty'zhea Hawkins and
Jenna Jordan finishing in double figures, the rest of the team shot 4-for-20 from the field in the contest.
Hawkins made 9-of-9 attempts from the line in a 23-point game. It was Hawkins' third game of 20 or more points in her last five. Jordan was 8-of-12 at the stripe and established a line of 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
As the first quarter came to a close, the Owls (15-8, 10-7 NE10) hit on a pair of treys and a three-point play that turned a 12-10 game into a more-comfortable 21-12 Southern advantage.

Kaitlyn O'Connell three had the Panthers within 23-16 in the second quarter, but Southern's lead was already back at double digits just after halftime.
