Garden City, N.Y. - In the last game it will play in the 2023 calendar year, the Adelphi University men's basketball team topped Chestnut Hill College, by a final score of 93-71 to wrap up non-conference play.
Both squads came out firing, combining for 25 points after the first five minutes of action. The Brown and Gold then settled in going on a 12-0 run capped by a
Seth Brown three-pointer to extend the host lead to 14.
The Panthers (7-4) continued to keep the gas on the pedal to finish out the half - at one point holding a 33 point lead before heading into the break with a 59-30 advantage.

David Luberoff, and
Matthew Price combined to go 12-12 from the field with 11, 9, 6, and 5 points respectively. Adelphi shot 22-28 from the field for a 78.6% clip, along with 8-of-11 shooting from three en-route to scoring a season-high in first half points with 59.
The second half proved to be more of a level playing field after the Griffins (1-11) regrouped. The Panthers' shooting percentage came down to 46.4% along with 3-13 from beyond the arc. Chestnut Hill greatly improved to nearly 60 percent field goal percentage on16-of-27 from the floor.
Regan continued his surge to reach his career-high in points in a Panther uniform with 19, after a four-year career with the Griffins.
Andrew Delaney went 3-3 in the latter half to up his scoring total to 14 along with leading the team in rebounds with seven. Brown and Walton rounded out the double digit scorers on the home side.
Head Coach
Dave Duke and Adelphi will finish out their four-game homestand on Jan. 3 when they take return to Northeast-10 Conference action to take on Southern New Hampshire. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
