Garden City, N.Y. - On the shoulders of graduate student
Jenna Jordan, the Adelphi University women's basketball team posted a 75-49 victory over the College of Staten Island on Tuesday, in non-conference action.
Jordan was unstoppable in both the paint and on the glass, matching her career-high of 30 points and a new mark of 17 boards in team's second consecutive victory.
After a 7-0 clip from Adelphi (3-6) to start the first quarter, the Dolphins came back to knot the game at 13-all on a three-pointer from Elizabeth Lofaro with over three minutes to play in the opener.
Lauren Beberman recorded a jumper that put the hosts ahead, and a 1-of-2 performance at the free throw line kept the visitors trailing by one at the conclusion of the first.

Isabella Asencio started off the second with a three but Staten Island used a Dana Phelan trey at 4:58 to take its first lead of the contest.
Kaitlyn O'Connell managed a jumpshot that sparked a six point run to close out the half and put the hosts ahead for the contest.
Adelphi used 12 points from turnovers in the third to take a commanding lead, including an 18-point performance from Jordan alone on perfect shooting from the field. For the frame, the Panthers were 10-of-15 from the field and nearly perfect at the charity stripe to lead by 20 at the end of the quarter.
A bit of life from Staten Island came by way of 12 bench points in the closing quarter, but a scoring run of six points from the home team and an already established lead handed the Panther's their second straight win.

Rolanda Robinson, who contributed 10 and had six rebounds.

Sade Jackson and her squad are back to work on Monday, Dec. 18 when they host the University of the District of Columbia. The Firebirds were receiving votes in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Associatoin poll and sit atop the East Coast Conference at 10-0 this season.
