Mansfield, Mass. - On Monday, Adelphi University volleyball defensive standout
Jamie Yonker -- the two-time reigning NE10 Libero of the Year -- collected her first NE10 Libero of the Week honor of the 2023 campaign.
The award comes on the strength of Yonker averaging a near-season-high 5.42 digs per set in three matches last week. Her league-leading total currently stands at 263 digs at the halfway point of the season.
In a key pair of regional contests, Yonker amassed over twenty digs on both occasions and nearly tied a season-high in the process. She collected 23 digs in a five-set thriller at Bridgeport, and tacked on another 26 digs in Saturday's NE10 Championship re-match against AIC.
Yonker is approaching a milestone in her Adelphi tenure. To date, the graduate student is 149 digs away from achieving 1,000 career digs as a Panther.
With Yonker spearheading the team's defensive efforts yet again in 2023, the Panthers are an exceptional 9-1 thus far in regional competition.
The Panthers are back in action tomorrow (Oct. 3), with a 7 p.m. first serve at NE10 foe Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y.
