Waltham, Mass. - In a battle of attrition between two teams jockeying for playoff position, the No. 17 Adelphi University women's soccer team played a scoreless draw across ninety minutes at Bentley University on Saturday in Waltham.
Entering this weekend's action, Bentley (3-3-3, 2-2-1 NE10) allowed the fewest goals of any team in the NE10 with seven.
And with Adelphi (8-1-3, 5-0-2 NE10) letting up just eight goals to-date, the two staunch defenses caused few scoring opportunities against one another.
Graduate keeper
Krista Aliscio was well-positioned to make each of her four saves on the day.
Now with a career-high seventh clean sheet to her credit, Aliscio lowered her conference-leading goals-against average to 0.64.
Aliscio has also surpassed former teammate
Sarah Hofmeier, moving up to seventh among the school's career shutout leaders with 16.
While the Panthers didn't have the advantage in possession, Adelphi still outshot Bentley by an 8-6 margin.
