Farmingdale, N.Y. - At the fifth annual Panthers XC Invite, hosted by Adelphi University, the Panther women won the 5K event as the men placed third overall.

The women, who win the event for the second time in its existence, were paced by the Marsh twins who finished second and third overall. Spaced apart by one second, Katherine was the top finisher for Adelphi in a time of 19:36.1. The last time the Panthers won the team plaque was in the twins rookie season, 2019.

Rounding out the top-three for the hosts was Rachel Tucci inside the top-15 overall, as her time of 21:14.1 was good enough for ninth in the field of nearly 100 competitors. Sumaira Mayan and first year Lucia Kutner capped the first five finishers for the Brown and Gold.

Jaquelynn Sheedy, senior out of U.S. Merchant Marine Academy was the first to cross the tape - coming in in a time of 19:21.6. Molloy and USMMA were the second and third place teams on the women's side, following Adelphi's 52 points with 65 and 76 respectively.

Adam Zelin was the top finisher for the men, placing eighth overall in a time of 27:11.9 as Jake Orfano was the next member of the Brown and Gold to finish in the top-15 clocking in at 27:38.5 in the 8K event.

East Stroudsburg took the men's team title with the low score of 27 as USMMA was the next in line with 64 points.

The cross country programs are back in action at the UMass Dartmouth meet on Saturday, September 17.
