Garden City, N.Y. - Holding its opponent to a negative hitting percentage in the second set, the Adelphi University volleyball team moved back to .500 overall with a three-set sweep of Queens on Wednesday evening. 

Additionally, the team was raising funds for the Go 4 the Goal Foundation, in an effort to help fight pediatric cancer and reached its goal of $150.00. 

Lilyen McCarthy put up a team-leading 10 kills to help Adelphi (6-6) bounce back from a non-conference loss to Jefferson over the weekend. Jaydin Nowak took on libero duties and finished the 90 minute match with 18 digs. Brenna Valsted and Kambel Fiser split the setting role and accounted for 19 and 10 assists, respectively. 

Queens (4-8) was able to start off the first and third sets on runs, but were unable to stave off the Panther attack, who hit over .350 as a team in two of the three sets. 

Adelphi also held a staggering advantage in aces and blocks, with 12 and six, as the Knights did not record a single stat in either category. 

The Brown and Gold will take the weekend to recoup and get back to non-conference action on Tuesday, September 20 when they head across town to Molloy College.
