Colchester, Vt. - Only five games were lost in singles competition by the Panthers on Sunday, in the Adelphi University women's tennis team's 7-0 drubbing of Saint Michael's College in its 2022 NE10 opener at the SMC Tennis Courts in Colchester.
The Panthers are now 2-1 overall and 1-0 in NE10 play with the victory.
Barbie Quagliardi,
Katarina Liedbeck and
Julia Kielan all swept their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Caterina Federici prevailed 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 flight, while
Amanda Franstedt and
Jenelle Downer were 6-0, 6-1 winners at No. 4 and No. 6.
In top doubles, the No. 14 nationally-ranked team of Federici and Quagliardi earned a 6-3 victory.
Carolina Chaves made her only appearance at No. 3 doubles with Kielan, and won by a 6-0 scoreline.

Rebecca Fakas and her Adelphi squad will wait a week before resuming action next Sunday (Sept. 18) at home against Bentley University at 1 p.m.
