East Hartford, Conn. - Back in 2009,  Adelphi University men's lacrosse teammates Donny Moss '09 and Carroll Kennedy '10 passed each other a lot. Whether it be in their home city of Rochester, N.Y., the Ruth S. Harley University Center, or most frequently on Motamed Field, the two got quite used to saying hello.

Following graduation, they each went their separate ways, yet continue to run into each other on lacrosse fields.

RIT's 12-10 victory to win back-to-back titles.

You see almost as quickly as they received their Adelphi University diplomas, both former Panther defenders replaced their playing helmets for coaching hats making the official move over to the sidelines.

Presently, Moss is a member of the NCAA Division III Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology coaching staff, while Kennedy serves as an assistant on the staff of the Division I University of Maryland Terrapins.

This past weekend the two former JUCO All-Region lacrosse recipients once again made each other's acquaintance. This time on the grass of Rentschler Field at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, CT, during what was a jointly victorious 2022 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship weekend.

Maryland topped Cornell University for lacrosse supremacy behind a 9-7 victory, but not before RIT completed the same feat one day earlier, with a 12-10 defeat over Union College.

Following the conclusion of Monday's action, Moss now has two championships to his credit, all at RIT, while Kennedy, boasts four trophies of his own (three at Division II Limestone University and one with the Terps).

With six titles now between them, spanning all three divisions, the two former roommates have each risen to coaching greatness.

And so, while Memorial Day weekend is perhaps best known for barbecues and family time, it remains a constant reunion where, to this day, the hellos still occur.
