Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University softball team took a pair of games from East Region foe Caldwell University on Wednesday afternoon, 4-0 and 4-0.Â

Carla Campagna won her 100th career game at the helm. During her fourth season leading the program, she holds a 100-48 record for a .676 winning percentage. Campagna recently broke her single-season win record of 32 over the weekend when the team won 4-0 over Pace to hit 33 wins. This marks the third season her team has had 30 victories or better.Â
Game 1: Adelphi 4, Caldwell 0
Adelphi (35-11) had an opportunity to push runs across in the first and second innings, but the last two outs occured back-to-back to end the innings.Â
One inning later
Ziara Shreter rocked an inside the park homer down the left field line to score her and
Courtney Wengryn that walked one batter earlier for a 2-0 Panther lead.
The home team rallied for two more runs one inning later that started with
Angela Lignelli's two-out single up the middle.
Courtney Wengryn followed up with another single to put runners on the corners.
Ziara Shreter and
Alexa Sacripante had back-to-back RBI singles to the outfield to boost the lead 4-0.Â
Caldwell (32-11) had a chance in the third and again in the fifth to squeeze runners across, but
Claire Fon battled to keep the Cougars off the board.Â
Fon went to work inside the circle for her 18th win of the season. She had multiple runners in scoring position when she dealt strikeouts and ground outs to keep the visitors scoreless in Game 1. She retired seven batters total on the game.Â
Game 2: Adelphi 4, Caldwell 0Â Â
Amanda Owens broke open the scoring in Game 2 with RBI double that sent
Sophia Cicchetti home for a 1-0 lead.Â
Alexa Sacripante added to the score in the third after scoring on a past ball.Â
Kendall Winn poked a RBI double to right center to add one to the board before
Ashley Lombardi stepped to the plate and advanced the runner on third to make it 4-0 in favor of the hosts.Â
Adelphi outperformed Caldwell offensively six hits to four, but both teams left five runners stranded. Only one of the five runners for the visiting team were in scoring position when the inning ended.Â
Lindsey Hibbs earned the start in Game 2 and struck out 13 Cougars. She allowed only four hits and walked none.Â
