Albany, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's lacrosse team earned a convincing 1-51 win over the College of Saint Rose on Wednesday, in a mid-week Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
The last time the Panthers opened the season with 11 consecutive wins was a 12-0 start in 2017, which concluded with the program's seventh NE10 title and eighth NCAA Division Ii National Championship.
Kelly-Ann McGrath netted the team's only hat trick with scores from eight different players, as the visiting team held a 32-9 shot advantage over the hosting Golden Knights (7-5, 3-5 NE10).
All it took was a 6-0 opening quarter for the Brown and Gold, who held the home team scoreless in the first half and allowed just one goal in the ensuing third and fourth quarters. McGrath completed her hat trick in the second half, netting all three without an assist.
Kailey Broderick and
Alexandra Beebe each chipped in three caused turnovers, as the team combined for 10 of the Golden Knights' 20 turnovers for the contest.
Adelphi's next challenge comes when #10 Le Moyne College comes to Garden City on Saturday, Apr. 16. The Dolphins have won six of their last seven contests, which includes victories over #15 Pace, #18 Assumption and #19 Saint Anselm. Their lone loss came to #21 New Haven from Mar. 30 when they fell by one goal to the Chargers.
