Oceanside, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team fell 6-1 at the hands of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon at Point Set Racquet Club in Oceanside.
The Panthers, who will next play four of five on the road after three in a row at home, dipped to 2-3 overall with the loss.
Marko Jovanovic and
Gabriel Balestero got Adelphi off to a strong start with a comfortable 6-1 victory at top doubles.
Adelphi didn't come away with the doubles point though and it tailed from there.
Reece Farrow and
Pietro Sole both went the distance in their respective No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches, but each lost the third set.
Jovanovic overcame a 7-5 first-set loss and prevailed 6-3, 6-2 over the next two sets at top singles.
