No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Prevails in 11-4 Bout with Pace

Garden City, NY- A strong effort across the board led the no. 3 Adelphi University women's lacrosse team over no. 13 Pace on Wednesday eveing, en route to an 11-4 decision.
 
Powered by Christina Mccabe's two goals and three assists, the Panthers (7-0, 4-0 NE10) remain undefeated in 2022. Kerrin Heuser finished with three goals as the game's highest scorer as Izzy Grant and Kristina Schweitzer each finished with two goals apiece.
 
 Late in the second quarter, with the home team up 4-2, Pace's Sydney Juvelier scored on a man-up free position attempt, to cut the Panther lead to one. Less than a minute later, the visitors capitalized on another man-up possession, scoring on a free position to knot the game at four-all heading into halftime.
 
Coming out of the break, Heuser scored early in the third sparking a 7-0 run for Adelphi which extended through the remainder of the contest.
 
The Panthers defense held strong, keeping the Setters scoreless for the entire second half. Adelphi goalkeeper Emma Lemanski collected eight saves in the win, to post an unblemished record between the pipes.
 
Despite aggressive attempts from the Setters offense down the stretch, and a goal that came after the shotclock expired, the hosts were able to close out the victory 11-4.
 
Pat McCabe and the women's lacrosse team continue their season at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire on Saturday, April 2.
