Men's Tennis Routs Stonehill, 6-1

Easton, Mass. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team moved to a perfect 2-0 in NE10 play Tuesday with a 6-1 victory over Stonehill College at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts in Easton.

It was the team's second-consecutive 6-1 result, after winning comfortably by the same margin in its NE10 opener Saturday against Saint Michael's.

Each of the top two pairings for Adelphi (4-5, 2-0 NE10) didn't even drop a game in securing the doubles point.

The first-time partners of Pietro Sole and Reece Farrow shut out their opposition at the No. 2 doubles flight.

Luke Attride-Stirling and Andrew Ray paired up for a 6-3 victory in third doubles.

All of Adelphi's singles victories came in straight sets.

Marko Jovanovic won 6-2, 6-1 in top singles. Gabriel Balestero was a 6-3, 6-1 victor at the No. 2 flight. Sole prevailed comfortably in third singles, 6-1, 6-0. Thiago Negrao made his first-ever appearance at fourth singles and won 6-0, 6-1.

Head Coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers resume their NE10 slate Saturday (Mar. 26), when they travel to Manchester, N.H. for a 1 p.m. first serve at Southern New Hampshire University.
