Albany, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's basketball team has won 11 of its 13 contests since entering the new year, earning a 76-60 win at the College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
Adonis Williams used 5-of-10 shooting from the field to end with 16 points while adding 14 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the year.
Chris Coalmon knocked down four three-pointers en route to a team-leading 17 points as
Ronnie Silva and
Isaiah Salter chipped in 15 and 16, respectively.
Wasting no time, Adelphi (17-6, 11-4 NE10) shot out to a double-digit lead after seven minutes of play, never relinquishing the advantage for the rest of the half. The Panthers led by at most 17, courtesy of a
Jake Hlywiak trifecta, one of five for the opening frame.
Coming out of the break, the visitors did not let up, only allowing the Golden Knights (10-11, 7-9 NE10) to put together a five-point stretch, which was not enough to overcome the deficit.
The men's basketball team will return to action on Monday (Feb. 14) in rescheduled action at Southern New Hampshire. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
