Bethpage, N.Y. - In an incredibly close race down the stretch, the Adelphi University women's cross country team finished just outside the top-three this season, at the 2022 NCAA Division II East Region Championship, hosted by the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
The women put up a total of 113 points to place fourth, falling behind top-team Southern New Hampshire, Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen College, which played out just as the USTFCCCA had predicted in the last installment of regional rankings.
Top runner out of SNHU was Ashley Corcoran, who also bested the field in the Northeast-10 Championship race at the beginning of the month.
Adelphi was led by
Katherine Marsh who completed the race in 22:41.20, and was the third individual finisher behind athletes from American International and Saint Anselm College. Her ninth place showing and 6K time both stand as new career-bests in the 6K event. The Marsh twin duo remained true as
Isabel Marsh was the next to cross the tape for Adelphi, as
Isabel Marsh landed inside the top-15 with a time of 22:50.10. she bested her 2021 finish by over 30 places.
