Syracuse, N.Y. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University women's soccer team played to an even 1-1 draw against Le Moyne College in NE10 action at Ted Grant Field in Syracuse.
Even despite leading 14-3 in shots, the Panthers (10-3-2, 8-1-2 NE10) found themselves trailing in the second half.
Down 1-0 at the precipice of the 10-minute mark, Adelphi took over on a giveaway at midfield and on the counter --
Victoria Colatosti finished an
Ashley Borriello through ball into the lower-right netting for the equalizer.
All of Colatosti's game-high four shots were on target. Each of her shots in the second half forced the keeper to make a diving save -- the last of which was a near game-winner with 1:22 left.
Adelphi limited Le Moyne (5-7-3, 3-6-2 NE10) to only three shots through ninety minutes. The Dolphins did manage to break through for the go-ahead tally though in the 58th minute, on the latter of their two shots on goal.
The Panthers will round out the regular season Wednesday (Oct. 26) with a 7 p.m. match against No. 8 The College of Saint Rose. Prior to kickoff, Adelphi will recognize its nine graduating seniors in a pre-game ceremony.
