Farmingdale, N.Y. - With just two weeks to go until the Northeast-10 Conference Championship races, the men's cross country team returned to action on Friday, at the Short Course Showdown, hosted at Bethpage State Park, where they came in fifth.
The course is also home to the 2022 NCAA Division II East Region race, hosted by the Panthers for the second time since 2018.
Diego Llanos led the Panther harriers once more, clocking in at 15:39.2 to place eighth overall to be the lone member of Adelphi to land in the top-15. The next to cross for Adelphi was
Matthew Gemma, who crossed the finish line in 16:37.4 to place 30th overall.

Jake Orfano and senior
Thomas Roulette finished within two seconds of each other for 36th and 38th, respectively as Gabe Silva rounded out the top-five for the Brown and Gold in a time of 16:52.7.
The team will now get ready for NE10 Championships scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 6 hosted by Saint Michael's College. The men's 8K race will take place at 11:00 a.m.
