Syracuse, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the No. 21 Adelphi University men's soccer team couldn't seem to figure out Le Moyne College in a 3-0 loss at Ted Grant Field.
While
Daniel De La Heras nearly tied a career-high with six saves, the Panthers fell to 7-3-4 overall and 4-3-2 in NE10 play.
Adelphi, which was listed under consideration in the initial NCAA regional rankings, was limited to a season-low three shots on goal.
The Dolphins (5-4-5, 2-3-4 NE10) exploded for three first-half goals and never looked back.
Le Moyne had already built a 2-0 lead before Adelphi registered a shot. A 10th-minute penalty got the Dolphins started.
Both teams were almost even in possession, with Le Moyne holding a slight 52 percent edge.
Head Coach
Gary Book and his Adelphi squad are back in action Saturday (Oct. 22) with a Senior Night match-up against NE10 rival American International College at 7 p.m.
