Garden City, N.Y. - With thundersticks in the crowd, the Adelphi University volleyball program stole a 3-0 sweep from Assumption University on Saturday afternoon, as the campus celebrated its annual Spirit Weekend.
The win now extends the Panthers' streak to seven as they take a night off from conference play with their next opponent. Adelphi's attack hit .277 as a team, with six or fewer errors in each set as the block held a 10-6 advantage over the Greyhounds, who drop their ninth consecutive in the loss.
Macarty McQueen led all players with 10 kills while adding a team-high three service aces alongside six digs.
Samantha Collins got a hand in nine different stops for the Brown and Gold, teaming up with
Noelle Alberda on five different occasions.
The team welcomes Alliance University (formerly Nyack College) to the Center for Recreation and Sports on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The first 50 fans inside the gym will receive a free Adelphi branded foam paw.
