Pleasantville, N.Y. - Despite a season-high 23 points from
Emily Miccile, the Adelphi University women's basketball team fell 68-53 to Pace University in a Northeast-10 Conference showdown on Saturday at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
Miccile's 23 points came on 7-of-16 shooting and surpassed her previous career-high of 19 points on Jan. 4, 2020 against New Haven.
The loss drops the Panthers (4-7, 2-4 NE10) to a record of 1-5 on the road.
Adelphi fell into an early 14-5 hole, but clawed back into the game with an 8-0 run that pulled the visitors within a point (14-13) in the second quarter.
Although the Panthers came within a basket of taking the lead, Adelphi never led across the duration of the game.
A 12-0 run in response to Adelphi's comeback put the Setters (12-2, 7-1 NE10) in front by double digits and Pace never looked back.
Nearly a quarter of the visitors' scoring output came from the bench. The Panthers also pulled down 12 offensive rebounds in the contest.
