Colchester, Vt. - A 22-9 fourth-quarter run cemented a fifth-straight victory for the Adelphi University women's basketball team in a 76-62 result over Saint Michael's College in NE10 action Tuesday night at the Ross Sports Center in Colchester.
While the Panthers (9-8, 7-5 NE10) led by eight at several junctures across the first three quarters, the two teams were only separated by a point (54-53) entering the fourth.
Although Saint Michael's (3-10, 1-7 NE10) hit on its opening bucket of the quarter to take a 55-54 lead, Adelphi reeled off a 14-1 response in 4:31 that put the visitors ahead by double figures.
Sydney Rosenoff and 
Ty'zhea Hawkins accounted for the first ten points of the run for Adelphi. In the fourth quarter alone, Rosenoff led all scorers with seven points, while Hawkins followed close behind with six. The Panthers shot a sizzling 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field in the final 10-minute period.
The Purple Knights were unable to overcome the deficit, as the hosts were limited to just five points over the first nine minutes of the fourth quarter.
Adelphi committed only a season-low eight turnovers in the contest and forced 14 miscues, which led to a 23-10 point differential off turnovers.
Four players had double-digit scoring nights for the Panthers, led by a 19-point effort from 
Emily Miccile. Hawkins tied a season-high with 16 points and Rosenoff added 11 points. 
Emma Cuccurullo finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.

Sade Jackson and her Adelphi squad will now test their five-game winning streak Thursday (Jan. 27) in a make-up game with Southern New Hampshire University, which received votes in today's WBCA Division II Top 25 Poll. TIp-off from Manchester, N.H. is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
