Oceanside, N.Y. - The win streak for the Adelphi University women's tennis team is now up to four, after Wednesday's 5-2 win over University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Point Set Racquet Club in Oceanside.
The Panthers, who improved to 5-1 in NE10 play, are unbeaten at home in their last 10 regular-season conference matches. Their last loss occurred on Oct. 14, 2018 in a 5-2 loss to Stonehill College.
Adelphi made quick work of New Haven (4-4, 3-3 NE10) on the afternoon.
Despite defaulting at No. 6 singles, the Panthers did not concede a played match until after the contest had already been decided.
Adelphi won its four singles matches in succession.
Julia Kielan kicked it off with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
Nicole Stay followed with a straight-set (6-3, 6-2) victory of her own in the No. 3 flight.
Amanda Franstedt cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 decision in her favor at No. 4 singles.
Barbie Quagliardi improved to a perfect 4-0 in second singles, with a 6-2, 6-4 straight-set result.
Meanwhile, Adelphi's top two doubles pairs are now a combined 12-0 through six matches. Quagliardi and
Nicole Kielan prevailed 6-3 at the top flight. Stay and Franstedt concluded the doubles competition with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
