Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

#11 Women's Lacrosse Suffers OT Heartbreaker to #3 Le Moyne

Garden City, N.Y. - It boiled down to a golden goal situation for Adelphi women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon, when an equalizer goal from Kerrin Heuser sent the Northeast-10 Conference matchup with no. 3 Le Moyne to overtime. Ultimately, it was the Dolphins that commanded the draw and found the back of the net to secure an 8-7 victory to remain perfect this season.

Christina Ferrara and Kole Pollock each recorded a hat trick, despite the loss, with the solo goal coming from Heuser.

Le Moyne's Adrianna Nojaim got things started offensively less than two minutes into the contest, but the home team responded with three unanswered tallies to open the first half. Pollock connected with Alison Johnson for the second and third goals for Adelphi, taking a 3-1 lead at 18:46. The Dolphins (9-0) got hot and scored the next five goals, spanning into the second frame, holding the Panthers scoreless for nearly 27 minutes. In that stretch, Erin McMullen scored a hat trick for Le Moyne, ultimately ending with five goals in the win.

Pollock scored her eleventh goal of the season at 21:05, breaking the silence for the hosts, after Alexandra Beebe caused a turnover at the other end of the field to give an opportunity for her attack to do just that. Ferrara's goal a few minutes later brought Adelphi within one, but a game of back-and-forth kept the Panthers in the same position.

A late foul on Le Moyne awarded a free position to Heuser who buried a shot past Paige Crandall to even the score at seven-all. Despite a Dolphin win at the next draw control, Lillian Kolodinsky finessed a caused turnover in Adelphi's defensive third to maintain possession for the remainder of the contest.

Normally a six-minute first overtime, Le Moyne used less than two to find the back of the net as McMullen shot the game winner to help the visitors remain perfect this season.

Adelphi will regroup and return to action on Wednesday, April 21 when they trek to West Haven, Conn. to take on Southern Connecticut. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. and will be live-streamed on NE10NOW.tv.
