Oceanside, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the Adelphi University women's tennis team rebounded from the tough loss over the weekend with a 7-0 rout of American International College in Northeast-10 Conference action at Point Set Indoor Racquet Club in Oceanside.
In singles, the Panthers (2-1, 2-1 NE10) didn't squander a game to the Yellow Jackets (0-3, 0-3 NE10) in three of four singles matches.
Barbie Quagliardi,
Amanda Franstedt and
Nicole Stay all won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
Nicole Kielan made her first start at top singles since 2018 and took the opening set from Meritxell Jimeno-Vicente in a tiebreaker, before winning comfortably, 6-3, in the second set.
Earlier in the match, the No. 1 and No. 2 tandems of Quagliardi and Kielan and Franstedt and Stay remained undefeated in doubles play.
Quagliardi and Kielan earned a 6-2 victory at the top flight, while Franstedt and Stay cruised to a 6-1 win in second doubles.
